Community breakfast featuring local products on Sunday April 21

Transition Cocagne, an initiative of the Pays de Cocagne Sustainable Development Group, will be hosting a community breakfast featuring products from Southeastern NB, Sunday April 21 st, 2013 from 8am to 12pm at the Club 50 d’âge d’Or in Cocagne.

Tickets are available at the door. The cost is 10$ for adults and 5$ for children (under 12).

Art and Nature Expo in Cocagne

The Cocagne sustainable development group is organising it’s annual expo with the theme Art and Nature in Notre Dame.

Transition Cocagne is participating by organising a local products breakfast in Cocagne on Sunday the 21st.

The schedule of activities:

Tuesday, April 16 at 7pm: Guest speaker,

Learning to identify ducks, Louis-Émile Cormier,

École Blanche-Bourgeois, Cocagne

Friday, April 19

1:30pm – 4pm > Art Expo – All are welcome

Gardeners meeting

If you like gardening, Transition Cocagne is organising an informal get together on Thursday March 14th at 7:00 Pm to help plan the 2013 planting season. It is an informal discussion and seed exchange between gardeners who want to share their knowledge, tricks, and cherished varieties.

Bring your garden plan, leftover seeds, catalogues, and questions.  The meeting will take place at the offices of the Pays de Cocagne Sutainable Development Group (4585 Route 134, Cocagne) You can invite your friends. BYOB http://www.transitioncocagne.org

Local breakfast this sunday February 10th

There will be a breakfast this Sunday February 10th from 8:00am to 12 pm. Tickets will be available at the door. Come eat after your shoveling!

This year a local musician, Mario Le Breton, will provide some entertainment during the morning.

New at the breakfast this year – Local food sale

February 1, 2013

There will be a kiosk selling local food during the community breakfast on February 10th. This is an initiative of Diane Savoie, a local resident. So far the kiosk will have:
• Products from Bernadette Goguen of Marcel Goguen farm (jellies, juice, garlic, peppers, dried apples)
• Herbs from Ginette Goulet, l’Oasis des fines herbes
• Products from the garden of Jocelyne Gauvin (dried flowers, dried garlic and more)
• Honey from different local producers

The kiosk is available to more producers. Diane is looking for a variety of items to sell such as:
• Produce from the garden ( squash, garlic, ect)
• Baking products such as breads, desserts, pies
• Grains or Beans
• Preserves, pickles, homemade relish
